Despite the delay from Apple, Google forge ahead with NFC-Minyanville.com

Yesterday, it was rumored that the iPhone 5 not a near field communication chip--despite the growing support in Android and BlackBerry devices. Apple claims the lack of a clear industry standard scares the company from entering the NFC fold.

But the Cupertino arrest--or her wish to the implementation of a new, incompatible NFC version--Google didn't discourage forging ahead in NFC technology.

According to Bloomberg, Google is launching a mobile payment experiment in San Francisco and New York City in the next four months. The company will thousands of VeriFone payment terminals in shops--allowing users to NFC devices to register a payment Golf install. Simple, fast, and it could be that "replacement for your wallet" we all hoped for.

As Engadget points out, CEO Eric Schmidt sees a great future in mobile payments and could be pairing this experiment with a new Google payment system. Bloomberg suspects that Google "can combine a consumer financial account information, gift-card balances store customer cards and coupon subscriptions on a single chip NFC on a phone."

This experiment should pay, Apple is not a legitimate excuse for delivering an NFC-less iPhone 5.
